Are security plugins that good?

Yeah I totally agree. Wordpress always seemed secure enough for me, I never had a problem with a virus or any kind of hijacking. Plus, with those plugins, they're usually not made by the group at wordpress anyways, so why use it if it's not them dishing it out?
